T.J Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick probably wasn't as high-flying a match as some expected it would be going into Clash Of Champions. Indeed, there was an awful lot of ground work from both men, but that only made the high spots even more memorable. Along the way, Kendrick and Perkins were able to fool the live crowd that the match was over.

Realistically, the 37-year old Kendrick was never going to beat Perkins so quickly after T.J had won the WWE Cruiserweight Title. That didn't stop fans from falling for a tremendous near fall, following a sweet-looking Sliced Bread on the defending champion.

In a match that was always going to be the most unique on the card, Perkins kicked out just before the referee's hand slapped the mat for a third time. The close call worked a treat, people in the first few rows definitely thought Kendrick was about to pull off what would have to be considered an upset win.

Perkins managed to get his shoulder up however, meaning the bout continued. This near fall was a show highlight for sure.
