When the referee called for the bell at Clash Of Champions, bringing to a close the ongoing physical war between Sheamus and Cesaro, the live crowd rained boos down on everyone involved. This was not a popular decision, nor was it a particularly savvy way of concluding the 'Best Of 7 Series'.

That was the purpose of this match, fans were going to get an outright winner to end the series concept. As things panned out, nobody left satisfied, and that includes the actual wrestlers themselves. Firstly, Cesaro came to and informed doctors and officials that he was willing to fight Sheamus with just one arm.

Then, the Irishman was held back by numerous officials and prevented from returning to the ring. The sense was that Cesaro and Sheamus were similarly unhappy at how things had ended, which went some way to restoring faith. At the very least, fans could take solace in the idea that those working the match didn't like the way it had ended either.

Things had to be this way, Sheamus and Cesaro (specifically the latter) couldn't meekly accept their match being stopped.
