WWE Raw's first PPV of the post-Brand Extension (don't call it a Split!) was firmly a tale of contradiction. On the one hand there were strong matches, and the talent worked hard to put on a good show, but the booking was roundly criticised what could have been an event fit to clash with Backlash had its sting pulled out.

If the agenda for these PPVs is to get fans talking about the product, Clash certainly succeeded. But to consider that a real positive you probably have to tune out slightly to what is actually being said, and concentrate instead on words generated. That's the modern magic of PR anyway.

As the dust settles, we have a new US Champion, the same tag, Women's and Universal champions and a possibly record breaking number of interferences in a single event. Or at least it felt like that. And while there were some widely publicised problems, the PPV was very much a mixture of positives and negatives and fans took to social media to discuss it all.

She might not have been officially on the card, but social media seemed united in the proclamation that Nia Jax is heading towards something big. Her booking suggests it of course, with squashes and dominance the order of the day, and it can only be a matter of time before she barges in on the main event picture in the division...

And though some might say Alicia was chosen as a fitting whipping opponent, the victory didn't come without some bumps for Jax. And that's just as important for her graduation to the main event picture too: she has to appear powerful but still vaguely human...
