This one is pretty close. There were reports that the Richmond Coliseum in Virginia had to be heavily papered to fill out the seats for Backlash, and if that's the case it wasn't as noticeable on TV. In the territory days Richmond was somewhat of a hotbed for wrestling, so some of those fans still have the passion running through their blood and they made themselves vocal on the PPV broadcast.

It would be an easy victory for Backlash were it not for reports that the Indianapolis crowd responding by giving Seth Rollins a standing ovation following his defeat in the main event of Clash of Champions. It's always nice to see an audience show appreciation for a performer, especially a guy like Rollins whose been giving it his all for years now.

There was the pesky case of the "Y2J" chants during the Jericho/Zayn match. Not only does that lack of crowd support not bode well for Sami, it also doesn't help Chris, a heel, tell the story he's trying to. I get that Jericho is incredibly entertaining and we all love him, but he doesn't want your cheers, he wants you to hate him and root for his opponent.

When the fans go omega level smark and cheer all the heels it becomes counter-productive to what WWE is trying to accomplish, and I'd prefer not to see that. But as for overall crowd atmosphere, while neither city was particularly on fire, I'd give the slight edge to Virginia over Indiana.

Advantage: Backlash
