WWE: CM Punk - 5 Awesome Matches And 5 That Sucked

1. ECW Elimination Chamber Match - December To Dismember 2006

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpFL3m9R_h4 This is possibly one of the most idiotic moments of the WWE's dalliance with the ECW brand (and there's been some competition) where instead of going with a guy who keep a crowd captivated with the stick or in the ring in CM Punk, the WWE obviously took the easy route and slapped the ECW championship on a big guy. This would not be so bad if not for the fact that the match was so poor. The thing with Elmination Chamber matches is that the environment should be extreme enough. There's no real need to employ weapons into a match that could at times have six competitors in the ring. One would expect with the weapons in the chamber that it would be a massive bloodfest. However, the thing is that the weapons created a match that was a road agents' nightmare, as with so many variables around the place it really restricted the movement and speed of many of the wrestlers movesets. Much of the match was a guy hitting the rest of the participants with a weapon of some sort. In this way the match lacked any fluidity, story or clever counters which is really what a Elimination Chamber match lives and dies on. CM Punk's participation in the match was relatively minimal, being the first one eliminated- but there is no doubt that his frustrations about how he was booked would only be one out of several instances that he and WWE creative did not see eye to eye.
