3. Royal Rumble 2014
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUdEgSFavvY As mentioned in previous articles, the Royal Rumble was a strictly by the numbers affair this year that did not manage to excite a crows that was hoping for bigger and better things. By not taking any risks with the Rumble the WWE did the fans a disservice and the fans soon let them know about it. CM Punk was in the Rumble to play the Iron Man role, going as the first entrant to one of the last 4 before Kane re-entered to get rid of him that would have set up the feud with the Authority. There wasn't anything wrong with how Punk performed in the Rumble, it's just that he didn't seem to get the same opportunities to shine as Dolph Ziggler and Chris Jericho did the year before- the two of them not only managing to get the Rumble off to a great start, but also kept a good pace throughout the match. Furthermore, this match gets put on here simply because in many ways this could be seen as the straw that broke the camel's back and so in that sense it was a very sucky match.
