6. The First World Title Win
The moment that matters most in a wrestling career will always be the first world title win. It serves as the relief that no matter what else happens in your career, you at least made it to the top of the mountain at least once. For CM Punk this moment came in 2008 and it would serve as the basis for all future success to be built upon. All perceptions of Punk changed after he won the title, he wasn't just some midcard talent, he was a wrestler the WWE had bigger hopes for. Punk won the belt by cashing in Money In The Bank on Edge, just minutes after Batista had destroyed the Canadian star. How ironic that Punk's first big break involved Batista, and now his last big incident with WWE is perhaps stemming The Animal too! Marching down to the ring with his briefcase, Punk got the bell rung, hit a GTS, and covered for the pin. Despite the manner of the win, Punk was ecstatic. The WWE World Title still carried a fair degree of prestige at this stage in its history, and CM Punk had truly made it in the land of the giants.
