WWE Crown Jewel: 10 Last-Minute Rumours You Need To Know

They've signed him for realsies, we're led to believe, so there's no reason whatsoever to rule out Cain Velasquez leaving Saudi Arabia as WWE Champion. He is almost certainly going to be declared the winner of the match, the only question is if that's enough for him to claim the belt.

Despite their best efforts to pitch him as just some lump who handed Lesnar his own arse in UFC, Velasquez is an accomplish pro-wrestler. He's worked two matches in AAA already and, by all accounts, has taken to it like a duck to WALTER. This wouldn't be like Fury/Strowman, where there's an indignity and disgrace in the defeat, this would be closer to Rousey's WrestleMania debut.

There is, of course, the problem though of his inexperience as a performer in this sphere; you and I might not be bothered if he can't cut a lame 20-minute promo to open Raw but Steph will be. Then, of course, there's the fact that he's on the wrong brand for the WWE Championship, and it's incredibly unlikely they'd have both of the top belts on the same show. Still though, it wouldn't even be the strangest thing WWE have done this year.
