WWE Crown Jewel: 10 Things We Learned

6. WWE Didn’t Really Miss Some Heavy Hitters

The fact that WWE didn't miss names the calibre of John Cena, Roman Reigns or Daniel Bryan in Saudi Arabia shows the depth of the roster. Sure, they had to bring back some part-timers to show that depth, but it's true. Crown Jewel didn't really need that trio, and here's why.

Cena would've been a peripheral figure in the World Cup, Bryan's WWE Title shot at AJ Styles already had house show title defence written all over it and the Reigns situation couldn't be helped. Ask yourself a question: would Roman defending the Universal Title in a Triple Threat with Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman have saved the show?

Doubtful.

It sounds borderline insane to say, and yet it's probably for the best that Daniel Bryan wasn't there. Had WWE found a way to coax him over to Saudi, he would have cut an unhappy figure and worked a match devoid of the energy his SmackDown one was.
