Natural order has been restored and Brock Lesnar is once again WWE Universal Champion. It's almost like SummerSlam in August didn't happen. That was supposed to be Roman Reigns' crowning moment and absolute proof that he was 'The Guy' in the company. Less than three months later, the man he replaced is.

Again.

After Reigns' tearful cancer announcement, WWE had a big decision to make. They could either show faith in Braun Strowman and finally give him a shot on top, or they could restore the old status quo and rely on Lesnar, a man more interested in restarting his MMA career. They picked Brock, and it's another step backwards in the eyes of most.

Lesnar, complete with sensational hype man Paul Heyman, is WWE's safest bet. He's a comfort zone for the writers, and that's why they chose him to supplant the temporarily outgoing Roman. That they refused to take a chance on Braun tells all about the safety net mentality in the company.
