6. An Unmitigated Disaster Either Way
Goodness gracious me, what more can be mithered over on the subject of this catastrophe of an unsolvable booking Rubik's cube? There are a few possible ideas, and absolutely zero of them are workable.
Seth Rollins could beat The Fiend. We don't need to explain in particular detail the drawbacks of this path, though bearing in mind the international crowd won't reject the outcome as much as a domestic one, it's somehow a possibility. A second option is for The Fiend to win outright... except for the fact he is posted to SmackDown, and can't realistically take the Universal Championship there.
The most obvious solution is to have Wyatt beat Rollins so brutally that the match is declared a no contest. But of course, WWE ludicrously pulled that stunt in Seth's favour at Hell in a Cell, leading to the quite categorical 'cannot be stopped for any reason' stipulation. What a mess.
The company actually stumbled upon a possible answer at the end of this week's Raw. A steel cage match in which Seth manages to tie down Bray down long enough to escape, only to see The Fiend teleport his claw into his mouth after the bell rings and the lights go down, would have seen Rollins keep his title, and Wyatt keep his aura. Good idea: so it - or some form of it - was presented as a dark match.
It'll just be an idiotic Rollins win, then.
Prediction: Dear lord, who cares?
