An old WCW pay-per-view binging session led yours truly to an unmasked Rey Mysterio teaming with Billy Kidman to open up Halloween Havoc 2000 in a three-way tag match. It was genuinely so weird to see Rey running around with devil horns on in such an unimportant spot 23 years ago, and it was even stranger to realise he's the current WWE United States titleholder.

At least for now.

Logan Paul is surely winning that belt on Saturday and giving the midcard strap some crossover shine Mysterio (for all his brilliance) simply can't provide. Or, WWE could mess things up by booking Rey-Rey to win thanks to his LWO pals, thus leaving Paul without much to do heading into the latter part of the year.

Mysterio vs. Santos Escobar (that's incoming) for the US Title is nowhere near as interesting as Logan holding it would be. Like it or not, he commands attention from an audience bigger than WWE's, and that must guarantee his first title.

Anything else would be quite the clanger.
