WWE Crown Jewel: 8 Things WWE Got Right

4. Keeping The Universal Title Match Brief

The Universal Title match was better for its brevity anyway.

Brock Lesnar is best deployed in short, power-based blasts of excitement rather than long-winded story arcs that last 20-30 minutes. This is especially true when he's one-on-one with someone. His whole presentation is MMA fighter who can end things at a moment's notice, and so briefness is a positive with 'The Beast' these days.

The match didn't need to be a kick and punch back and forth effort. For what it was, it had a story (Corbin's decision to belt shot Braun 'cause he wants marquee player Brock as his champ), some drama and WWE now have a Universal Champion they covet post-Roman Reigns misery.

Some may argue with the decision to put the title back on a part-timer, but WWE obviously don't think Strowman is the right one to lead. Sooner or later, that'll need to change. Braun can't keep coming up short and cling onto his monster status.
