WWE Crowns New Andre The Giant Battle Royal Winner On SmackDown
Someone totally fresh won WWE's annual WrestleMania-inspired battle royal on SmackDown.
Madcap Moss won WWE's latest Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on Friday's episode of SmackDown.
Happy Corbin's pal (at least for now) outlasted Finn Bálor, Apollo Crews, Commander Azeez, Erik, Ivar, Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, Damian Priest, Robert Roode, Dolph Ziggler, Jinder Mahal, Shanky, R-Truth, Mansoor, Reggie, Tommaso Ciampa, Drew Gulak and Akira Tozawa to win the thing.
Last year's winner Jey Uso wasn't involved in the match lineup.
Moss eventually eliminated reigning United States Champion Bálor to earn the giant trophy - WWE might use this as a means to book Madcap in a title situation soon. Moss vs. Finn doesn't exactly sound WrestleMania-worthy, but it could happen after this weekend's festivities.
Or, maybe Madcap will use this success as a reason to break free of Corbin and forge his own path on the SmackDown roster. WWE has options here, which is hardly a bad thing.
Andre's tribute bout has become less important as the years have rolled on though. WWE introduced it at 'Mania XXX in 2014, but it changed from pay-per-view/Kickoff tradition to TV fodder last year. Moss will be happy to win the thing regardless.
