WrestleMania 36's first night opened with a title switch when Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vanquished The Kabuki Warriors to become new WWE Women's Tag-Team Champions.

This is the second time Cross and Bliss have held the routinely-overlooked belts together. They last held the straps for 62 days last summer before dropping them to Asuka and Kairi Sane at Hell In A Cell 2019.

Now, they've regained them on WWE's biggest (albeit weirdest) stage.

The Kabuki Warriors had held the gold for a record-setting 178 days (in TV land, at least) before dropping them at 'Mania; the previous record was set by The IIconics, who held the belts for 120 meaningless days after bagging them at WrestleMania 35.

Bliss and Cross will hope to fare better than Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, and top their own throwaway first reign in the process.

WWE hasn't exactly shone a favourable spotlight on the Women's Tag Titles since launching them in early-2019. They've barely been featured at all, in fact, even when held by solid teams like Asuka and Sane - might things change now that Cross and Bliss are back on top?
