WWE CWC: 9 Most Awesome Spots From This Week’s Show (July 20)

8. Double Kick Spot

First off, this one goes down an awesome spot simply for the way it looked, but on top of that it was another clever piece of storytelling from the Tajiri vs. Damien Slater match.

With Tajiri looking to minimise his opponent’s obvious power advantage, he set about aiming his kicks at the left triceps of Slater. As the match wore on, and Tajiri kept kicking, Slater looked to bring a stop to that by targeting Tajiri’s legs.

All very logical and all very straightforward, yet what was especially good was to see that leg vs. triceps battle manifest itself in the double kicking spot.

With both men viciously laying their strikes in, you’ll notice that Tajiri was continuing to target the triceps while Slater was working the leg still. And ultimately it was a sweep to that weakened leg that brought the duel to an end.

As good as it looked, equally impressive was the level of continuity here, something we don’t often see when watching the main roster product. Plus, it can’t be easy laying your stuff in while being battered by The Japanese Buzzsaw, of all people.
