As of right now, Dean Ambrose is the current, reigning WWE Champion. That could all change at Battleground, but Ambrose deserves at least some more time to show what he can do in the power position. Let's not forget he's fresh in the hot seat, only winning the belt when he cashed in at Money In The Bank.

Right after Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley had unveiled Seth Rollins as their first Raw pick, Shane and Daniel Bryan went for Ambrose. Later in the same show, Ambrose managed to defeat Rollins to retain the WWE Title. Now, he marches onto the Triple Threat at Battleground.

Recently, WWE have stopped referring to Dean's title as the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. There must be a reason for that, and it would make sense that another World Title is about to be unleashed on either Raw or SmackDown.

The outcome of Battleground will determine which show gets the brand new belt, but for now it belongs to SmackDown. Looking at things plainly, there should be no immediate rush to change that.
