One of the most pleasing aspects of the new brand split has been the way SmackDown has rebuilt some of WWE’s former "lost causes". Guys like The Miz have benefited immensely from the focus given to them on Tuesday nights, and while many mid-level wrestlers are still languishing, the show has staged numerous career revivals.

Any wrestler joining SmackDown can expect the same treatment. SD has at least tried to recognise the individual worth of each performer, and the evidence is in the likes of Baron Corbin, who has improved immensely after a rocky main roster start, and Dean Ambrose, who has never felt more important than when he was SmackDown’s champion.

There’s a reason that the likes of Cesaro have spoken openly about their desire to join SmackDown. Someone like Sami Zayn may finally reach his main event potential if traded, and moving to SD's expansive women's division would give Emma the opportunity to become more than a video package. It might still be the “B show,” but Raw’s more ambitious midcarders should be licking their lips at the prospect of joining SmackDown soon, particularly those who've lost their way on Monday nights.
