4. Teams WON’T Be Safe

WWE were never shy of using drafts to disband tag teams during the original brand split. Whenever talk of a fresh draft comes up, it’s always speculated that a number of tandems will go their separate ways and embark upon singles careers on opposing brands. It has affected the likes of the Dudley Boyz and Acolytes in the past, and WWE's groups definitely aren't safe this year.

While tag teams were treated as singular entities in 2016, there are reasons for at least a couple to split after WrestleMania. Cesaro’s previous comments regarding joining SmackDown will make him a favourite to leave partner Sheamus behind, while there’s also been talk that The New Day could split amidst the Xavier Woods/Paige controversy. Similarly, Big E has been earmarked as a potential singles star for a long time, and this would be an ideal chance to pull the trigger.

Braun Strowman left the Wyatt Family in last year's draft: his success provides a clear blueprint for the likes of Big E and Cesaro to follow. Splitting these teams at a time when both divisions are so short-handed might seem counterproductive, but given WWE's current disregard for tag wrestling, don't be surprised to see a team or two disband.
