WWE Draft 2020: 10 Trades That MUST Happen
8. Erik To SmackDown
The Viking Raiders haven't been going anywhere for a while now and now they have nothing to do as a team thanks to a neck injury to Ivar. Now all Erik can do is waste his time in Raw Underground and beat up no-name jobbers for a living.
Seriously, is that all they're going to do with a talent such as Erik while his partner is out? Ivar isn't going to be healthy for a long time, and that time can be used to do something productive with Erik. In order to be productive, however, he needs a change of scenery.
Jey Uso has made similar use of his tag partner being injured by being inserted into the new Roman Reigns storyline. Now, this author isn't suggesting that Erik be inserted into the main event picture, but could definitely be used in the blue brand's mid-card. Erik has rarely competed as a singles star in his time in wrestling, but he has shown some fire as of late in the Underground. He could take this shoot style brute character to SmackDown and become a new unstoppable force. Matt Riddle hasn't been seen in a while, consider a match between the 'Bro' and the Viking', fists would fly and it would make for a fresh and interesting feud for the blue brand.
Erik doesn't have to tread water until Ivar returns. Let him run wild and prove that he can make it on his own until the Raiders can ride again.
