WWE Draft 2023: 5 Things That Will Happen (And 5 That WON'T!)
6. WILL: At Least One Tag-Team Will Split
As aforementioned, WWE's 2021 Draft was a huge waste of everyone's time. "Thrilling" announcements like, 'Roman Reigns is staying on SmackDown' and, 'Bobby Lashley is staying put on Raw' made the exercise feel pointless, so creative better have some shocks up their sleeves for the next incarnation.
There's a chance one or two tag-teams will split, for example.
Chad Gable and Otis have already been setting the scene for that by having the latter's head turned by Maximum Male Models. Perhaps WWE's writers fancy exploring more comedy with Otis, and maybe (just maybe) doing something more serious with Gable. He'd be perfect as a breakout surprise babyface on SmackDown.
Alpha Academy could be heading for Splitsville then. An outside bet? The Street Profits. WWE may well find it impossible to resist trying on Montez Ford as a singles star in 2023. They don't need to turn him against Angelo Dawkins, but instead have him carve his own path before they reunite down the line.
All food for thought.
