WWE Draft 2023: 5 Things That Will Happen (And 5 That WON'T!)
7. WON’T: Designated Brand GMs
There's a point. WWE's top shows play out without a definitive General Manager figure in 2023. OK, so Adam Pearce still sort of calls the shots when it suits, but he's immediately dwarfed whenever Triple H is in town to make some sort of announcement (like he did for the upcoming Draft).
Trips isn't a GM either though, so the point still stands. WWE is unlikely to revert back to the days when Teddy Long was giddily making one-on-one matches with The Undertaker, or tag-team main events plenty before doing his funny little dance. They don't really need brand specific authority figures anymore.
Cynics will suggest that this sucks due to the return of MyGM in WWE's 2K video game series. Fair enough, but everyone could do without the torture of someone having to explain why every single match is happening on Raw or SmackDown.
There's no call for that, and it surely won't return.
