WWE Draft 2024: 5 Things That Will Happen (And 5 That WON’T!)
9. WON’T: WWE Sticking To It For 12 Months
There's no way WWE sticks to the Draft results long term.
Sadly, that just isn't in company DNA. They've got good intentions for the process, sure, but maintaining distinctly different rosters across both major shows has been problematic for a long time now. Vince McMahon was frankly sh*te at it, and Triple H didn't fare much better in 2023.
Being fair, WWE is his sandbox exclusively in 2024. Maybe things will change and the old eye-rolling "ironclad" promise will come true? Yes, yes that is very much wishful thinking from a fan who only wants the Draft to count for something rather than come and go without much consequence by the time SummerSlam rolls around.
Keep an eye on things after Backlash. If WWE's announcers start waxing lyrical about "Wild Cards" or other get out clauses, then you'll know the gig's up. Hunter keeping Raw and SmackDown's rosters totally separate for a full year sounds far-fetched.
