Charlotte Flair turned a lot of heads years ago when the main roster stalwart won the Royal Rumble then went on to challenge NXT Women's Champion and future 'Mami' Rhea Ripley at 'Mania 36. That felt huge at the time, not least because it put shine on the third show as more than just a mere developmental brand.

Don't hold your breath for more of the same in 2024.

Top names like Kevin Owens and Randy Orton won't be settling down on NXT any time soon. The more likely play from WWE is hurling a few midcarders towards Shawn Michaels so younger wrestlers in developmental have some experienced brains to pick backstage. That worked out well with Dolph Ziggler, Becky Lynch and (more recently) Baron Corbin.

So, who could be heading from Raw/SmackDown to NXT? Finn Bálor has been vocal about working there again - what if he takes JD McDonagh down to represent Judgment Day in the tag division? Just a thought.
