WWE Evolution: 10 Female Superstars That Must Return
1. Melina
The mid 2000s were a bit of a rough patch for the women's division of WWE. Storylines were stale and wrestling matches were less about the wrestling and more about the outfits worn during the bouts. However, there was one superstar who continued to shine for no other reason than her incredible in-ring ability.
Melina revolutionised the women's division during a time when women were constantly overlooked, and the A-List Superstar showcased her unique repertoire week in and week out. Her ingenuity and flexibility (which she often highlighted through her brilliant ring entrance) was largely responsible for some of her best work in the ring - including the genius finishers Californian Dream and the Sunset Split.
Furthermore, Melina was great on the microphone too, and knew exactly how to work the audience. Simply put: she was so good at being bad. From her unforgettable ring entrance, to her unique finishers, there was very little that Melina didn't bring to the table, and Bret Hart has even referred to her as "one of the best wrestlers in the world".
It's a real shame that Melina doesn't get as much recognition as Stratus and Lita because she certainly deserves it. And considering her part in showcasing women's wrestling, it seems right that the red carpet be rolled out come Evolution.
