WWE: Evolution vs The Shield Feud Will Lead To HHH vs Reigns
WWE's biggest storyline has switched gears in recent weeks from WWE Champion Daniel Bryan to the battle between the The Shield and the reunited Evolution trio. At Extreme Rules - Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose face off with bonafide WWE legends like Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista in what essentially is being marketed as the main event. Fans see The Shield as the stars of the future, so to see them interacting with a reunited Evolution group after ten years apart is a fresh storyline. The good news is if you're enjoying the rivalry on the road to Extreme Rules, there will be more of it in the future. A new report from PWInsider suggests that the reason for the feud is to lead to a huge showdown between Roman Reigns and Triple H. The report notes that the rumored matchup has been mentioned for SummerSlam, but it could be pushed back to Hell in a Cell or Survivor Series. Of those three shows, obviously SummerSlam is the bigger one. Survivor Series has really fallen off in terms of being considered a major event. It's one of oldest WWE events, but it's not at the level of WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and SummerSlam anymore. It may difficult to hold off the singles match all the way until October or November. Since they're already going at it now, the matchup still seems most likely for SummerSlam. That's the biggest event that WWE is going to have in the rest of 2014 no matter what else they may try. Casual fans know SummerSlam is a big deal, so they're going to want to load it up the best they can.
