During the Kickoff show, Renee Young made mention of the fact that Charlotte would be creating history at Extreme Rules. Appearing on her 11th consecutive main roster WWE pay-per-view, the WWE Women's Champion became the first female to do so in company history. That's something that deserves to be shouted about.

Later, Michael Cole would also draw viewer attention to the fact. This was done during Charlotte's entrance for a match against Natalya, and that only helped her credibility as she stood resplendent in a robe. It was nice to see a hard-working female wrestler get some plaudits, WWE should rightly be touting her achievement as a major one.

Booked to win by submission in the quit-only stipulation match, Charlotte looked dominant. That will only do the woman who inevitably ends her lengthy title reign the world of good, beating an assertive champion is the way it should be for any challenger WWE are serious about.

Women's wrestling has been swept under the carpet by WWE far too often over the years, but emphasis was placed on Charlotte's milestone here.
