Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have a menace and size to them that most tag-teams lack in WWE. Compare their imposing presence to that of The Ascension, and it becomes clear that Konnor and Viktor have no real place in WWE going forward as a heel unit.

Gallows and Anderson were booked to look absolutely vicious and simultaneously workmanlike at Extreme Rules. They wanted to send a message by destroying The Usos, but also wanted to win the match. That kind of simple logic is something everyone can identify with, the story didn't need to be convoluted in order to be effective.

The Usos had their moments in the match, but for the most part they were completely overwhelmed by their rivals and beaten comprehensively. This bodes well for The Club, there's no reason why they wouldn't provide a more threatening challenge to The New Day's reign as WWE Tag-Team Champions.

For now, seeing them dominate at Extreme Rules feels immediately satisfying. WWE got that one right.
