WWE Extreme Rules 2017: 8 Awesome Moments
4. Seeing Samoa Joe Headline A WWE Pay-Per-View
So, not only have WWE pushed the likes of AJ Styles into the top spots, they're now doing the same with Samoa Joe. Who could have predicted this several years ago? The idea of seeing a match like Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar on WWE pay-per-view seemed impossible. Now, it's actually about to happen in just over a month.
Before he was celebrating the win though, it was stunning to finally see Joe in the main event of a WWE supershow. Special mention must also go to Finn Balor, even if the Irishman went on last at SummerSlam 2016, but this was all about Samoa. Not even Roman Reigns was booked to stop Joe.
Watching as Joe lined up alongside Reigns, Balor, Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt for the Fatal-5-Way, it couldn't go unnoticed that this was Joe's first main roster WWE pay-per-view headliner. That's significant, and (as a lifelong wrestling fan) pleasing to see.
