WWE Extreme Rules 2017: Ranking Fatal 5-Way Competitors Chances

3. Seth Rollins

WWE has botched Seth Rollins in a way that is almost criminal. The guy returned from injury to nuclear white heat, and they played off the gargantuan babyface pop he received the night he came back by... keeping him heel and having him suck up to Triple H and Stephanie. It was one of the silliest moves the organization has pulled in quite some time and the talented grappler still hasn't fully recovered from it.

Rollins hasn't exactly set the world on fire with his recent matches, either. His performances have been built around the selling of his knee injury, causing a significant slowdown in his signature breakneck pace of action, as well as a noticeable inconsistency in when he does and doesn't choose to sell the injury. It's a minor detail but an important one nonetheless.

That being said, when Rollins and Lesnar have locked up in the past they've put on a hell of a show, especially their triple threat Match of the Year candidate featuring John Cena. Giving Seth one more shot at 'The Beast' isn't a bad thing, but if it's still "bad knee Seth" - it'd be much better to wait until he's "fully healed Seth". His only advantage over Brock is his speed and agility, and if that's taken away from him we're going to be left with one of wrestling's most gifted performers eating about 15 German suplexes while slipping in very little of his own offense.

Seth is still a more likely challenger than both Roman and Joe for reasons previously mentioned, but we're probably looking at he and Joe wrapping up their program and hopefully moving onto feuds with people they can actually click with before either man gets a crack at the champ.
