Rusev challenged AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at the event, and although he may have come up short, he certainly put on an impressive showing. It isn't easy to hang with someone as athletically gifted as Styles, but the Bulgarian Brute held his own throughout the contest. Moreover, Aiden English's mishap with the exposed turnbuckle ended up protecting him from a completely clean loss. As a result, he came away from the match looking incredibly strong, and was every bit the imposing foe that the feud built him up to be.

If there is one thing we can take away from the pair's respectable match, it's that Rusev is finally being booked like the monster he once was. His initial run in the company was one of the best Big Bad runs in recent memory, but after suffering multiple losses to the likes of John Cena and Roman Reigns, his allure was all but dead.

Perhaps the tide is finally turning for the Bulgarian Brute. Let's hope he can carry this momentum into his next feud.
