WWE Extreme Rules 2019: 7 Things It Told Us About SummerSlam

6. Kofi Kingston Badly Needs A Strong Opponent

Since putting a big ol' smile on everyone's chops by beating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35, Kofi Kingston has fought off Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler and now Samoa Joe. It's back to the drawing board for Joe (who knows what his future holds after losing a World Title match again), and the same goes for the dude who vanquished him.

Kofi needs a strong opponent at SummerSlam.

There's a chance WWE will finally draft in Bray Wyatt and have him challenge for the belt. Early money was actually on Shane McMahon vying for the gold, but he seems to have other irons in the fire right now. If Shane-O-Mac is going to ruin everyone's Christmas by becoming WWE Champ, then it's been pushed back.

That leaves Kingston without a known feud in time for what is traditionally the second biggest show of the year. It could be Wyatt or bust for Kofi. Sliding another placeholder challenger into the mix to face him sounds tedious as all hell right now, especially on a pay-per-view like SummerSlam.
