WWE Extreme Rules 2019: 7 Things It Told Us About SummerSlam

5. Shane McMahon Will Move On To KO

Speaking of Shane, the privileged SmackDown Commish has moved on from issues with both The Miz and Roman Reigns to feud with Kevin Owens. The show's recent thread of everyman babyface KO sticking up for the rest of the roster against McMahon tyranny will continue into SummerSlam. That's where it'll reach a boiling point.

It's anyone's guess where that leaves Miz and Reigns though. Neither of them have a rivalry to work without Shane.

That's Owens' gain. He can use this as the perfect springboard to a sustained babyface run (his first proper one in WWE; that 'Big O' period in New Day shouldn't count), and maybe reinvent his career with the company in the process. That'll especially be true if he's booked to win in Toronto. Those tearing their hair out at the thought of a McMahon title run will like that idea.

KO had strong words for Shane once more at Extreme Rules. Those, along with McMahon's bruised pride after losing to The Undertaker, will be the ingredients both use to whip up some sort of gimmick match at SummerSlam.
