The recent number one contenders tournament for the Intercontinental Championship has been an exciting addition to Monday Night RAW. Similar to the apparent change of direction on the part of the WWE with regards to the Diva's roster, it would seem the WWE is once again investing in its championship belts, more specifically the prestigious Intercontinental Championship. If this proves to be true, then Big E is surely en route to dropping the Intercontinental title at Extreme Rules. Whilst there is little doubt that Big E is a talented wrestler, he is not charismatic enough to be the Intercontinental Champion. The fact that the WWE has entrusted him with the coveted championship reflects upon a poor company philosophy that dictates that the title makes the champion. The result of this lazy booking process is that the title has become valued less by fans who cannot invest emotionally in under developed champions. Big E is the latest of this long line of haphazardly promoted champions, and in the face of a strong gimmick in 'Bad News Barrett' it is probable that he is to walk out of Extreme Rules a former champion. After all his boring and washed out character pales even further in comparison to Barrett who is not likely to lose at Extreme Rules after the WWE has invested so much time and effort into having him earn his spot as number one contender. Simply put, Wade Barrett is 'Bad News!' for Big E's reign as Intercontinental Champion.
