WWE Extreme Rules - Ranked From Worst To Best
5. 2010 - CM Punk Saves His Hair, Saves The Show
A cursory glance at the 2010 WWE Extreme Rules card doesn't make pretty reading; the show featured John Cena taking on Batista, Sheamus battling Triple H and Jack Swagger going one-on-one with Randy Orton. It is an immensely WWE card. It was also something of a WrestleMania re-run, with no less than four matches being re-matches from the big event.
Of those that weren't re-matches, JTG and Shad Gaspard collided in a hugely anticipated (by nobody) match between the former Cryme Tyme members, one of three strap matches to take place at Extreme Rules. Beth Phoenix defeated Michelle McCool in an 'Extreme Makeover' match, a bout where the weapons dotted around the ring were home appliances. The Hart Dynasty also earned a future tag title shot in the laziest way possible, by entering a gauntlet match last and winning it.
Despite all of this, two matches on this show really stood out. They were also WrestleMania re-matches, but pretty fantastic ones at that. Chris Jericho and Edge continued their beef, no longer over the World Heavyweight Championship, in side a steel cage, with Edge coming out on top to even their series up.
The match of the night (by some distance) saw CM Punk avenge his WrestleMania defeat to Rey Mysterio, in a match that would have seen him lose his hair if he was the man defeated. The two got almost 10 minutes more between the ropes here, and put on the match that many felt they were robbed off putting on at WrestleMania. It makes the show well-worth watching.
