WWE Extreme Rules Spoilers - 10 Things That Will Happen
4. John Cena Won't Turn Heel
The key selling point for John Cena's steel cage match with Bray Wyatt is the question of will Cena turn heel. WWE has teased it very strongly in the last fortnight, firstly by pushing the fact that the WWE Universe have turned on Cena, secondly by having Cena himself reference that he feels abandoned by the fans. However, all this is just creative to push his story, there's no reason to actually believe he will turn heel. What's more likely is a continuation of his current status, hero to some, hated by others. Cena is still a valuable babyface to the company, he does more with charity than is ever publicised. He is also the biggest merchandise name in the company, outselling the number 2 star in the company (Daniel Bryan) five times over. For these reasons, when it comes down to it, Cena isn't going to have a 'Hogan Bash at the beach 96' moment this Sunday. Will Wyatt win the match? The internet seems to think so, but it's hard to see how that would fit into the storyline. Wyatt would get elevated with the victory, earning back his loss at WrestleMania. But with Cena's character under attack, how can WWE have the hero losing? It will be an interesting one to see play out, with WWE themselves perhaps still going back and forth on the winner.
