Further to the whole retro feeling that Fast Lane evoked, the WWE brought back a gimmick it's intermittently played around with in decades past: the corner cam! In the 1990s, as camera sizes began to get smaller, the WWF did occasionally pack cameras into the corners to give fans an up close and personal look at the mayhem taking place in the ring. It was fun for a while, sure, but basically a silly gimmick, right? Well, they brought it back for last night's show, using it only a handful of times and not particularly effectively either, making you wonder why they even bothered fitting the ring posts with cameras at all. So fleetingly was the technology used that you could easily miss all of its appearances if you happened to be grabbing some snacks from the kitchen or even just checking your phone for three seconds.
