WWE Fastlane 2017: 6 Shocks That Could Happen

2. Chris Jericho Doesn’t Get Involved In KO’s Title Defence

Kevin Owens all but guaranteed a future match against Chris Jericho when he smashed his former buddy through the 'Jeritron 6500' on the February 13 Raw broadcast; the incident caused Y2J to skip several weeks of TV, and there's a chance he will make a televised return in time for Fastlane.

It'd have to be considered a surprise if Jericho didn't poke his nose into KO's Universal Title defence opposite Goldberg on the pay-per-view, but what if the Canadian waits until after the bell to ambush his ex-tag partner?

Just as Owens was revelling in an unlikely victory (stay tuned for the next entry to see how that plays out), a vengeful Jericho should sprint down the aisle way and blast the champ with a well-placed Codebreaker. Right away, WWE have their Universal Title showdown set for WrestleMania, and it doesn't impede on Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar.

It's almost expected that Jericho will interfere in the match - even if his involvement only exists to prolong the agony of KO and help make the bout longer - but maybe he won't interrupt at all while it is in progress.
