Enjoying multi-man matches in WWE depends on how far you're willing to suspend disbelief and resist poking holes in questionable logic. Some stretches of selling are painfully long, and they rely on people ignoring the fact someone like John Cena has been down for five minutes because of a side suplex.

During one of these periods at Fastlane, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens seized the moment by furthering their own story and successfully managed to distract from the stalling.

When Sami lay flat on his back and encouraged Owens to pin him, only to quickly switch into a roll-up and reveal the ruse, it worked perfectly as a plot point in their on/off friendship gig. It also made sense, because Zayn wanted to use his pal's trust to become WWE Champion.

Perhaps they went a tad overboard with all the Superkicking, pinfall-spoiling Shane McMahon stuff later. Perhaps. McMahon influence or not though, it was nice to see the issues between Zayn and KO get some attention during a stacked main event.
