WWE Fastlane 2018: 10 Things WWE Got Right

2. John Cena Looking Like A Beaten Man During The End Sequence

Eagle-eyed viewers paying full attention during the headliner's closing stretch would have noticed that John Cena was a beaten man before AJ Styles hit his Phenomenal Forearm on Kevin Owens and pinned him to retain the WWE Title.

Owens bashed Cena with a Pop-Up Powerbomb before AJ literally leapt into shot, and the subtle purpose of this was that he had John beat fair and square. Cena, ideally, would have been the better choice for Styles to pin (it would've sold his 'Mania-related despondency better), but in the absence of that it was sweet to see KO look dominant.

Bonus points to the camera crew for getting all up in Cena's face post-match too. By pushing the cam away and looking like he might be sick, John did a magic job of acting gutted at the prospect of missing out on this year's WrestleMania.

Great work from all involved, including the production staff.
