WWE Fastlane 2019: 8 Things We Learned

2. Shane McMahon Has Turned Heel

Everything about Fastlane maximised the impact of Shane McMahon's heel turn. The Miz turned up in Cleveland Browns colours, he had his dad at ringside for moral support and his "best friend" by his side against The Usos. Yes, Miz temp-replaced Baker Mayfield as Cleveland's favourite son for the night.

Then, Shane-O stabbed him in the back and threatened to kick his daddy's head in.

This is a turn many (including this writer) have predicted for the longest time. Miz was inarguably the more safe choice to turn rogue, but WWE have blatantly fancied trying on the babyface shoes for him again since Raw 25 last year. This, right in time for WrestleMania, is their chance to right 2013's wrongs.

The new heel role will feel great for McMahon as well. He's been baby since coming back to the company in 2016, and people have been clamouring for a reason to boo him since his World Cup heroics at Crown Jewel. Now, everyone has what they want, and the pair can collide in a Street Fight, No DQ effort or something hardcore next month.
