That's not to say Charlotte shouldn't have a major role to play in reshaping the future of things on the female side. Critics tend to forget that Flair delivers come PLE time, especially in big singles showdowns, but another thing is true: She's infinitely more palatable as a villain.

At Fastlane, once the dust has settled on IYO's successful defence, Charlotte can take out her frustrations on Asuka, some security and those poor, innocent commentary desks. Her full-on meltdown would signify a return to the heel side, and that'd be welcome considering how natural Flair is in that sort of role.

WWE's long-term plan should involve readying Charlotte for Jade Cargill, because appointing Flair as main roster gatekeeper/not-so-subtle mentor for Jade is the ideal way to make her feel welcome around this place. The best way to go about that is by reverting Charlotte to type.

She's so much more useful as a baddie.
