WWE Filming SmackDown In A Secret Location

Company said to be taping in locked down state.

Although the United States is increasingly falling under lockdown as the nation continues to combat the global medical emergency, WWE are still planning to continue taping episodes of SmackDown - against government instructions.

According to Dave Meltzer, speaking on the post WrestleMania edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, the company have scheduled recording of the blue brand between now and Friday. The journalist revealed WWE has a location for the taping, though they are keeping it secret as it's said to be in a locked-down state.

Whether they'll actually be able to film or not remains up in the air. Many states, including those in WWE's traditional north east stomping grounds, have limited gatherings, and ordered against any non-essential businesses operating publicly. Strict social distancing rules that dictate people should be no more than six feet apart are also in place, which would obviously be contravened by wrestling.

On 1 April, Florida - the home of WWE's Performance Center - ordered that all residents stay home. It's difficult to see how a wrestling taping can occur there under such restrictions.

AEW meanwhile, are said to have concluded Dynamite tapings as of midnight Thursday. They are understood to have enough footage in the can to last through May.
