WWE is reportedly planning to bring back its all-women's premium live event, Evolution later this year.

According to sources from Bodyslam.net, the highly anticipated show is tentatively scheduled for July 5, 2025, at the Mohegan Sun: Casino & Resort in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Fans have clamoured for a second edition since the critically acclaimed original in 2018, but WWE had yet to deliver, seemingly until now. Reports initially surfaced via the Bodyslam.net x PWN Discord, where user CodyWhoades, noted that; “WWE is looking to host an Evolution PLE in the near future. Everything on the schedule is still tentative, but it’s currently set for 7/5 at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. We will share more updates as things get confirmed, so stay tuned.” This was subsequently backed up by a post on X with various outlets corroborating the story.

The first and only Evolution event took place on October 28, 2018, making history as WWE’s first-ever all-female PLE. The event showcased top stars at the time, such as Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Nikki Bella, along with legends like Trish Stratus and Lita as well as a host of cameos on well balanced card. It was widely praised for its high-quality matches and for putting a spotlight on the past, present and future of WWE’s women’s division at a time when the company was making strides in promoting female talent.

One major difference between the original Evolution and its potential 2025 counterpart is the quantitive growth WWE’s women’s roster. A new wave of talent has risen through NXT and onto the main roster, such as Roxanne Perez, Tiffany Stratton and Lyra Valkyria while established stars such as Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, and Iyo Sky continue to dominate alongside divisional cornerstones Flair, Bayley and a likely-to-return Becky Lynch.

Additionally, NXT in 2025 has prided itself on fostering one of the strongest women's divisions in company history - or at very least presenting the crew as such. With a deep talent pool featuring the likes of Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace, it's expected that the brand will have a significant presence at Evolution, potentially mirroring the role it played in 2018 when Shayna Baszler defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Kairi Sane and (on the pre-show) NXT UK Champion Rhea Ripley defeated Dakota Kai.
