WWE Forces AEW To Move Another Show (AEW News)

AEW Collision will NOT be going against WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.

Ahead of next month's Survivor Series, AEW has moved another show to avoid going head-to-head with WWE.

As per a Warner Bros. Discovery press release detailing November's programming, the 29 November edition of AEW Collision will instead be taking place two days earlier on Thanksgiving.

Obviously, this Collision move isn't due to any sort of counterprogramming by WWE - which was the case when AEW brought All Out forward by a few hours last month after WWE announced Wrestlepalooza for that same day - but more simply a case of making the smart choice not to run directly against a major Premium Live Event such as Survivor Series: WarGames.

As an example, Collision went up against WWE Royal Rumble earlier this year, averaging just 197,000 viewers for that episode. By comparison, the following two Collisions drew 387,000 and 421,000 viewers, respectively. However, while AEW will be avoiding WWE competition by moving Collision forward to Thursday, that Thanksgiving date will see Tony Khan's promotion lining up against holiday specials and the NFL.

While Collision will likely see plenty of fallout from AEW Full Gear - that PPV taking place the previous weekend - the line-up for WWE Survivor Series: WarGames has yet to fully come together, with heavy speculation that Roman Reigns and CM Punk will be coming together to lead a WarGames team against a Vision-driven team of heels.
