WWE Glasgow Live Review - 10 Interesting Observations You Need To Know
10. WWE See Dean Ambrose As The Ideal Way To Kick Off The Show
Maybe it's the entrance music, which starts suddenly, or perhaps it's because fans know they're going to see a high-energy match when the man is introduced, but WWE obviously felt Dean Ambrose was the ideal man to come on down first in Glasgow. Getting a huge reaction, Ambrose was treated almost like a fellow Glaswegian, which might sound weird, but the ass-kicking honesty of the character sits well with people in the city. Going up against Luke Harper may have seemed like a unique way to start the show, but the big man is a strange kettle of fish, one who doesn't mind bumping for smaller opponents, and he still retains enough mystique to be convincing enough when giving the babyface a heated beatdown. There was never really going to be any other result, Ambrose was always going to win it, but it was a great way to open the show. In fairness, a later tag-team encounter pitting The Lucha Dragons against The Ascension would have been just as fitting, but it seems WWE wanted to wheel out one of their heavier hitters first to set the tone for the event. It worked.
