Following Conrad Thompson's recent comments about Roman Reigns being the most overrated main event act in WWE history, Thompson's podcast co-host Eric Bischoff has now given his thoughts on the OTC.

Speaking on 83 Weeks, Bischoff talked about his respect for Roman, how he looks up to him and his success, but that he's bored with him.

The former WCW President compared Roman Reigns' current act to Hulk Hogan, seemingly referencing Hulk's early days in WCW, where the wrestling world had long started to grow tired of saying prayers, taking vitamins, training hard, and 'Hogan Must Pose'. As Bischoff put it, "I don't see anything new from" Roman, "I don't see a character evolving."

Eazy E detailed how evolution is a large part of what makes a character compelling, particularly when somebody has been playing a role for an extended period of time, whether that's in pro wrestling or in any other form of entertainment. Bischoff said that what we're seeing from the Roman character is "maintenance" that's working from a financial viewpoint, but that he's "just not interested anymore because I've seen it all".

From your writer's perspective, Eric Bischoff certainly makes some valid points when looking at Roman Reigns. Since he returned at SummerSlam 2020 and started to get his footing as the Tribal Chief, Roman's largely been the same character in the six years since, be that with the Bloodline or as more of a solo act, whether the fans boo him or cheer him, and whether he's a World Champion or on the chase for gold.
