WWE Hall Of Famer Says He Almost Became Becky Lynch's Manager
Becky Lynch wanted to pitch this on-screen alliance to WWE higher-ups, but...
Mick Foley was almost cast as Becky Lynch's manager on WWE TV, and he's still not entirely sure why that was one of Becks' pitches to the creative team.
WWE icon Foley told fans tuning into an "ask me anything" edition of his 'Foley Is Pod' show that Lynch was interested in having Mick manage her "a few times". He didn't go into great detail on any specific dates, so it'd be interesting to find out exactly when this happened.
Was Becky an aspiring star on NXT? A struggling name on the main roster? Did it happen during her ascent as 'The Man'? Was this a 'Big Time Becks' strategy? Nobody knows until either Foley or Lynch explain all someday.
Mick was flattered, but still doesn't understand why anybody "could benefit from [him] standing around ringside as a middle-aged man". The legend is perhaps downplaying his key knowledge of wrestling psychology there, not to mention his amazing promo skills over the years.
It would've been cool to find out if 'Mick and Becks' might've clicked on television. Of course, it could've ended up being a short-lived disaster, albeit one probably worth trying.
