3. Charlotte And Naomi Both Need To Improve

Following the 15 minute intermission, the divas were up next. Sometimes you might get a divas match at a live event based on events that happened on television, but in this instance it was a pretty random match without any sort of backstory. The match saw Charlotte take on Naomi, who had a returning Tamina (out for several months after a knee injury) in her corner. Much like with Zayn, there was a good reaction to NXTer Charlotte although it wasn't overwhelming either. A lot of people chanted "woo" in honor of her dad Ric Flair and she threw some chops during the match as well. There were a few instances in the match where things were a bit sloppy. The finishing sequence was poor. Charlotte went for a rollup, then Naomi's shoulder was actually up before the ref hit the mat three times, so Charlotte went back to the rollup and it was as if Naomi was down for a count of six. A rollup is supposed to be a surprising, out of nowhere type finish. It just didn't look good. It would have been better if they did about a minute or two of promo work to get the crowd more interested. Let's hear from Naomi. Why is Tamina with her? Maybe Charlotte could have told her to shut up because she's there to wrestle, not talk. That kind of thing. They didn't engage the crowd enough. All Tamina did was grab Charlotte's foot at one point. There wasn't much of a reason to have her out there. Are they both athletic and have bright futures? Absolutely. However, they could have had a better match too.
