WWE: He Is The Miz And His Championship Reign Could Have Been AWESOME!

The Commentary TeamMichael Cole The idea of a heel and a face commentator is as old as time itself as far as wrestling goes- the idea being that one can provide interesting banter between two combustible personalities as the people at home watch the match in the ring unfold. However it is important that whatever happens between the announcers does not interfere with the wrestlers' ability to connect with the fans. The idea of having Michael Cole as a sycophantic heel commentator may have seemed good on paper. Selling some of the heels on the roster by belittling and dismissing the faces with the play-by-play commentator (though Cole's aptitude in this regard is often a little wanting) may have seemed a good way to help the faces overcome seemingly bigger odds. The trouble is, that the new dynamic between Cole and uber-face commentator Jerry Lawler really harmed many of the heels on the roster- but in particular, the Miz. Nobody cared what Cole thought of the Miz as he was clearly 'sucking up' to the champion and Lawler basically continued to claim that he was an unworthy champion that was unfit of any one's respect. This is before we even get to the fact that the WWE decided to use the Miz to help fuel the Lawler/Cole angle by having Lawler face him at Elmination Chamber rather than giving him a credible opponent. So, with all that in mind, we come to the things that the WWE could have done differently.
